Little League Football Officers' Manual

29 SOCIAL ACTIVITIES

Refer to

Team sponsorship alone is insufficient to finance a League and additional funds must be found.
Social activities not only provide an excellent opportunity for parents, committee members and others to enjoy a good night out but also represent an ideal opportunity to raise much needed funds.
It is important, therefore, that Leagues elect a Social Secretary who with willing help can organise events such as: -

  1. Discos (possibly Christmas and end of season)
  2. Race nights
  3. Quiz nights
  4. Christmas dinner
  5. Snooker / bowling evenings
  6. Trips to greyhound racing
  7. Karaoke Evenings

The list is endless and it must be remembered that although each event should be profitable, ultimately it must also be fun or else support for future events will wain.

It is important to bear in mind safety considerations and any restrictions in the scope of the LLF insurance

Remember - it is better to have a small sell-out event than an expensive, over-ambitious disaster that loses money.
