General Statement
Little League Football is opposed to all forms of discrimination on the grounds of disability, gender, race, religion, sexuality and social class.

Little League Football will resist and challenge all acts of discrimination and will support its members, volunteers and staff when confronted with harassment.

Little League Football seeks to encourage the participation of both genders, those with disabilities and those from black and ethnic minorities at all levels of the organisation.

Objectives
To ensure that all children have equal access to and use of Little League Football's activities.

To ensure that all staff and volunteers of Little League Football experience equality of opportunity and are not disadvantaged by conditions or requirements which cannot be shown to be justified.

To encourage the development of an environment in which all people's rights are respected including those of children.

 

Equality of Opportunity for those who join our activities
Little League Football will pursue equality of opportunity for children who join our activities through:

  • the removal of barriers which prevent access to activities
  • access to information about us
  • the provision of information that is accessible and non discriminatory in language and formats
  • sensitivity to individual needs, characteristics, backgrounds and aspirations
  • opportunities for participation in decision making
  • fair and even application of policies and procedures
  • support to ensure that children's rights are maintained
  • ensuring that sexual, racial or other harassment or bullying is not tolerated

 

Equality of Opportunity for Staff and Volunteers
Little League Football pursue equality of opportunity for staff, potential employees and volunteers through:

  • considering people for recruitment and promotion solely on the basis of their ability to undertake the task
  • encouraging the recruitment and promotion of people from under-represented groups
  • giving fair and equal consideration for training
  • encouraging flexible working arrangements around the requirements of a particular job or task
  • ensuring that sexual, racial or other harassment or bullying is not tolerated

Maintenance of this Policy
Little League Football will make every effort to promote an awareness of this policy amongst all managers and staff, supported by training and sanctions where appropriate.
